So, people have been asking about the other characters of Phoenix Knight, so I thought I’d take a break from my horrible realization that I don’t remember how to do this whole school/homework thing (who knew how mind numbing John Dewey was outside of decimals?), and do some sketchin’.
Dick Gumshoe is Captain of the City Guard, who generally make up the day to day law force of the Realm.  Y’know how most fantasy settings usually have the city watch be a group of musclebound idiots who usually are the first to be eaten by a dragon should one attack the city?  …Yeah, this is the main reason for Gumshoe being captain- he’s the only one who’s lasted that long.  Reports to the Royal Guard, and Prince Edgeworth.

Mia, Baroness of Fey, was Maya’s older sister, Phoenix’s teacher and mentor, and it is her death that starts the two on their quest.  Although she showed much promise as a mage as a child, her mother’s banishment from the Court and subsequent abandonment of her title as Master of the Kurain school of Magic drove a young Mia to leave the confines of the ivory towers to study to become a knight of the law.  Her barony is actually land owned by the Fey family (though previously always stewarded by trusted outsiders).  Phoenix was her squire after she was knighted at the Hawthorne Battle.  Upon her passing, the barony has passed to Maya, although she has respected her sister’s wishes in passing the stewardship to the newly knighted Phoenix (and thus the original reason Maya gave him the magatama, or key to the Barony- only later would it’s mystical powers be revealed).

The Duke of Godot is a strange man; while most battles of law rarely require armor, his choice to wear the strange visor both on and off the court grounds is unique as it mysterious. His tendency to drink a bitter concoction at all hours is just as bizarre.  What is known is his utter despite of Phoenix, and the unwavering urge to see him fail. He also has a tendency to speak in vague, mystic like proverbs.  Maya claims that his aura gives her a headache.

Pearl is the prize daughter of Morgan Fey, Maya’s aunt and Regent Master at the Kurain school.  Pearl herself is quite shy and quiet, having never left the ivory towers since her birth.  Extremely adept at magic from an early age, she is her mother’s unknowing pawn to securing her position as Master away from Maya, despite Morgan’s own lack of magic.  It is she that unlocks the power of the magatama for Phoenix to see the chains of Lies and Truth.  Pearl is convinced that Phoenix and Maya are star crossed lovers, much to Maya’s utter mortification.  How much of that is Pearl’s love of the classic romance tales in the school’s library, or how much of that is her own reading of the pair’s hearts is unknown.

Meh.  That was far too much text, sorry for ruining your dash.  My brain is crazy.  (also, dealing with Mia’s cleavage was ridiculous.  let alone trying to make it work in her dress/costume…AH)

Lost my usual blue pencil and architect finishing pencil, so I was stuck going old school while doodling at work.  I also was flipping through the Christie’s catalog for the Princess Margaret auction.  So you get fae royalty.
Titania always gets a bad rap, and I suspect that her origins had her a lot more powerful than she ever was in Shakespeare’s work.
